AFA Educational Foundation Scholarship: $5,000 Award
The AFA Educational Foundation is proud to offer up to five $5,000 scholarships for 2025. These scholarships are awarded annually to support education and professional development in the fence and gate industry.
$5,000 Scholarship
Who Can Apply: Students with a 2.5+ GPA, connected to the fence and gate industry, and 40+ hours of volunteering.
Selection Criteria: Applications are reviewed anonymously by the Selection Committee.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Academic Achievement: A 2.5 GPA or higher over the last three years of schooling.
- Industry Connection: Be currently employed in the fence and gate industry or the child of someone employed in the industry.
- Community Service: Completed at least 40 hours of community service within the past four years.
- Complete Application: Submit a fully completed application by January 17, 2025.
What You’ll Need to Apply
- An essay included with your application.
- A photo of yourself to be used during a slide presentation at FENCETECH.
- A letter of recommendation from someone who knows you well.
Scholarship Use
The scholarship can be applied to:
- Four-year colleges or universities.
- Recognized two-year community or junior colleges.
- Vocational training schools related to the construction industry.
Selection Process
Applications are reviewed anonymously by the Selection Committee.
The Selection Committee includes representatives from the AFA staff, AFA Educational Foundation Board of Directors, the Chair-Elect of the AFA Chapter Presidents Committee, and the President-Elect of the AFA.
