January brings new begin, new year resolutions, and new scholarship chances. And, while there are thousands and thousands of scholarships available, just a small number of them accept applications from high school students.

Which is why I compiled this list of January scholarships for high school seniors. With this updated list, you can save some time when looking for money to pay for college.

Kendrick Lamar Fan No-Essay Scholarship

  • Award: $500
  • Deadline: Jan 2

Who can apply: It’s open to students of any education level and GPA, because Kendrick Lamar’s music resonates with fans from all walks of life.

Billie Eilish Fan Scholarship

  • Award: $500
  • Deadline: Jan 2

Who can apply: All students at any education level to apply for this scholarship. The only requirement? You’ve got to be a fan of Billie Eilish!

Elizabeth Schalk Memorial Scholarship

  • Award: $2,500
  • Deadline: Jan 2

Who can apply: High school seniors, undergraduates, and graduate students are eligible to apply.

Fallen “Freaks” Scholarship

  • Award: $6,000
  • Deadline: Jan 10

Who can apply: High school seniors, undergraduates, and graduate students are eligible to apply.

Field of Study: Forensic science or criminal justice

Sabrina Carpenter Superfan Scholarship

  • Award: $500
  • Deadline: Jan 2

Who can apply: Students from all educational backgrounds who’ve been touched.

“Be Bold” No-Essay Scholarship

  • Award: $25,000
  • Deadline: Jan 2

Who can apply: Students at any education level, state, field of study, and GPA will be considered.

Appalachian Region Vocational Scholarship

  • Award: $1,000
  • Deadline: Jan 13

Who can apply: High school students, trade school students, and undergraduates.

Submit Essay: 400–600 words

Mark A. Jefferson Teaching Scholarship

  • Award: $2,000
  • Deadline: Jan 15

Who can apply: High school students, undergraduates.

Submit Essay: 400–600 words

SNC Women in STEM Scholarship

  • Award: $7,500
  • Deadline: Jan 17

Who can apply: High school seniors, undergraduates, graduate students.

GPA: 3.5 +

Marie Curie Scholarship

  • Award: $80,000
  • Deadline: Jan 23

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Accepted into College of Saint Mary
  • Student must declare a STEM major in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Human Biology (non-Pre-PA).

Filling out applications can be time-consuming, but bear in the mind that the more applications you submit, the better your chances of winning. Fingers crossed that any of these scholarships are winners for you!
