Application Requirements
To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must submit a comprehensive application packet, which includes:
- Completed Application Form: Ensure all sections are filled out clearly and legibly.
- Personal Statement Essay: (One page, typed)
- Education and Career Goals (20 points): Discuss your plans for higher education, career aspirations, and financial needs for college.
- Passion for the Ukulele (40 points): Describe your love for the ukulele, its significance in your life, and how it inspires you.
- Community Service Activities (20 points): Highlight your volunteer work and its impact.
- Letters of Recommendation:
- Submit two letters. One must be from a high school teacher. These should detail your involvement in school and community activities, as well as your accomplishments. Letters from relatives or close friends are not accepted. (10 points)
- Demonstration of Financial Need (10 points): Optionally include the first page of your parents’ federal income tax return (Form 1040), ensuring all social security numbers are concealed.
Scholarship Details
Eligibility Criteria: Must be a graduating high school senior and a resident of Hawaii. Accepted to an accredited college or university. Display a passion for the ukulele.
Be of good character and demonstrate meaningful community service.

Deadline: Applications must be before by April 30. Late submissions will not be accepted.
